One of Dorset’s most unique restaurants.
Nestled in amongst the hustle and bustle of our award winning pub Chaplin’s and The Cellar Bar, our restaurant takes inspiration from the much loved Charlie Chaplin film, “Modern Times”. The film explores themes of machination and progress at the expense of individuality. Individuality is something we have in great abundance! Our artist-in-residence, Vivien Hoffman, has immortalised the iconic comedian all over the venue over 130 times, and counting. The pub and restaurant contain the second largest collection of Charlie Chaplin’s memorabilia in the world.
Custodians of our beautiful site, Vivien, and Harry, are passionate about British pubs and about seeing the industry continue to thrive. They love visiting the bars and pubs in London, Brighton and Bristol, and for almost two decades have shared a dream of importing an original and creative vibe to Boscombe for people to enjoy.
Our menu reflects the creative space it inhabits. Every dish is made, from fresh, by the chefs with a creative and quirky edge setting us apart from other restaurants in the area. The new construction of our onsite smokehouse, one of only a few in Dorset, furthers our free-spirited commitment to creativity.
You don’t have to be a fan of Charlie Chaplin to enjoy a memorable dining adventure at our restaurant, but you may well go home with surprising fondness for the iconic comedian, whose well known saying was “A day without laughter is a day wasted.”
